The Popper’s Fireworks of today started in 1982 as one man in a 15x15 shack at the corner of 33rd and “A” attempting to earn money for college.  After two days of hard work, he cleared a whopping $50.  This was not going to pay for college tuition, but it sparked an idea.  Twenty-eight years later we’ve grown to sixteen stands and counting.

We didn’t just “pop” up and grow; we started running a stand on consignment, just like the stand operators working our tents today.  But we grew quickly, as non-profits and local families joined us looking to earn some extra money.

Today our tents are still operated by local churches, schools, youth groups, other non-profits and families.  Everyone working at a Popper’s stand is a member of your local community.  We utilize local businesses and recycle all of our boxes.
